On the 24th November we’ll be joined by our headliners Haal and Kay Greyson as well as supporting artists Hang Linton and Immi Dash at Headrow House, Leeds.
Bristol’s HAAL is a project where triphop, industrial and electronica music of the same era culminates into one honed vision. Feeding this into home crafted DIY pedals, synthesisers and sampling, HAAL utilises motorik rhythm and uneasy atmospheres, counterbalancing this with destructive tendencies and glorious builds.
With shows around the UK as well as slots at the prestigious ArcTanGent and DotToDot Festivals, they have supported the likes of Famous, Butch Kassidy, Treeboy & Arc and DITZ, cultivating their own unique live identity in the process. For their headline shows, the band creates a stimulating performance with visuals created for each set, allowing the audience to become immersed with the dense landscapes and sounds of the band.
Kay Greyson has been performing for over ten years cementing her reputation in the UK as a hardworking, multi-talented artist. Her US influenced style calls back to the mid 2000’s hip hop she loved as a teen. She focuses on clever songwriting with a groove to keep any crowd moving! Having supported legends like The Game, KRS One, Akala etc she is now focused on creating her own legend. Her lastest single ‘Vain’ was featured on Radio 1 as part of ‘Jack Saunders Future Artists’.
Immi Dash is an Alt R&B artist from Stroud. With liquified melodies, smoky harmony stacks and atmospheric beats, her sound glides into the R&B world like a homecoming. Immi has found her stride on the UK scene, performing at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, supporting Slum Village at Future Yard on their UK tour, and showcasing internationally at Rotterdam’s ‘New Skool Rules Festival’. Immi was chosen for Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition long-list 2023 and for Reflector Magazine’s ‘One’s to Watch in 2023’. Her recent single ‘Overkill’ was played on BBC Radio 1 by presenter Jess Iszatt for BBC Introducing, indicating a bright future ahead.
Splicing avant-funk, dance punk & breakbeats, Hang Linton is an interdisciplinary artist based in Leeds. After cutting their teeth in Berlin across multiple projects & collectives, Hang has landed on home soil & is ready to make his mark.
Their art is a rebellion against clean aesthetics, inspired by past experiences, changing global events & the ugliness in the world. It’s not pretty – but it’s important & Hang will make sure you enjoy the ride.
Armed with a setup of a sampler, synths & visuals, Hang bends your ear around the counterculture sounds & movements that have shaped him.
Hang has recently been featured in The Guardian’s Cultural Prescription, selected as part of the BBC 6 Music Introducing Mixtape of 2022 & supported Kimya Dawson at a sold out Band on the wall, Manchester.
NExSW is our touring initiative for emerging artists looking to take their music out on the road. This programme is designed to support people hailing from two of the UK’s most exciting music regions renowned for nurturing underground talent – the North East and the South West.
