MARTIN LUKE-BROWN

This afternoon’s Tipping Point tip comes from London-based singer-songwriter Martin Luke-Brown and his new single ‘Into Yellow’, released via Lab Records.

Musically the track is restrained and ambient in instrumentation; organs and unspecified electronics wave in and out sat blissfully under his impressive, semi-distorted voice giving a great landscape to his poetic and atmospheric lyrics. The electronic stylings of Luke-Brown is certain to strike a chord for lovers of Frank Ocean and Jack Garratt, whom you can definitely draw reference from.

Talking about the track he says that ‘this song is the start of what feels like a new beginning for me’ which is certainly conveyed in the debut release via Lab Records. In essence ‘Into Yellow’ is short but sweet, rather like a small cupcake. The proof is in the pudding.
