North East Chamber of Commerce Respond to Government Defeat

Digital Union Member North East Chamber of Commerce share their response to Friday's government defeat.

James Ramsbotham, chief executive, North East England Chamber of Commerce said: “Government has failed the business community. The political process of the last two years has isolated economic and political stakeholders, and has now placed our economic future in jeopardy.

“Chamber members have been clear; it is crucial that we avoid a disorderly Brexit on the 12th April that would significantly harm the regional economy.

“Government must now secure a sufficient extension period, fully engage with the views and concerns of the business community and work together to secure an outcome that will sustain trade and growth in our region.”
