THE OLD PINK HOUSE

These Geordies are my newest obsession. I was lucky enough to have them for a Distiller TV shoot and see their live show on the same day. The band’s lead singer, Christopher Brown, is a killer showman and the rest of the band matches his performance. Their tracks are an amazing mix of heavy beats and buzzing electro bass hits with a catchy, powerful melody sprinkled on top. I can’t wait to see what is next for these guys!

THE HOWL AND THE HUM

So these guys are the only ones I have not actually seen live, but their song ‘Manea’ was my summer obsession. The York natives have this early Damien Rice vibe going on and I freaking love it. The production on all of their tracks is incredible as well. Really well crafter songs and recordings. I love their recorded stuff but hopefully I will finally get to check them out live soon!

THE MANATEES

These Southampton natives are freaking killer! They are really young and their energy is contagious. They are another band where their recorded music doesn’t do them justice, but their 4 part harmonies are just so spot on and that mixed with their really clever lyrics, they have me hooked! They played a song called ‘Guilty Pleasure’ for their Distiller TV shoot and the whole crew was singing it over and over for the following days. Really awesome track. Unfortunately, they don’t have it recorded yet, but you can check it out in a few weeks over on Distiller TV (shameless plug there!)

LUCIA

I am just in love with Lucia’s voice. It has this vulnerability and massive power all at the same time. That combined with the grungy guitar lines in ‘Cheap Talk’ creates a treat for the ear. She also has one of the coolest looks of any of the frontwomen out there right now. Definite little girl crush on this one!

CORELLA

I just love these wonderful Mancs! We had them on our stage for The Great Escape and it has been amazing to watch them grow the past few months, especially with their newest single, ‘Island’. This massive indie rock anthem has been stuck in my head for weeks! They are the perfect band to vibe out to in the sun (well hopefully we will have sun again) at a summer festival.
