AIF: Festival Futures Conference Tickets

The Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) is to launch Festival Futures, a series of events delivered in partnership with BIMM.

The new venture will kick off with two one-day conference events at BIMM’s Brighton and Manchester campuses on April 5 and 7 respectively.

Featuring keynote speeches from promoters including Kendal Calling and Forgotten Fields Director Ben Robinson and The Eden Sessions, Wilderness and Citadel Promoter John Empson.

“These conferences will have an extremely forward thinking agenda, exploring the future of the industry from various angles at the tip of the 2016 season,” said AIF General Manager Paul Reed. “From quick fire Talking Heads sessions to more in-depth fireside chats, we’re looking forward to an action packed and informative couple of days in Brighton and Manchester this April”.

Speakers so far confirmed include Sabotage Media founder Sammy Andrews, Music Venue Trust founder and CEO Mark Davyd, Sarah Bird (Director Wild Rumpus, Just So Festival), Mark Laurie (Director NCASS), Nick Lawrence (CEO NWN Blue Squared LTD) and Andy Lenthall (General Manager – Production Services Association).

Topics for discussion will include the importance of multi-arts events and family content, the food revolution at festivals, connections between streaming platforms and ticketing, event safety, festival finance, the importance of grassroots venues and connections to festivals and the impact of virtual reality can make on the marketplace.
