AIM Award Winners Announced

The annual AIM Awards took place last week, with winners including Domino, Beggars Founder Martin Mills and London Grammar amongst the winners.

The ceremony took place at The Brewery in London on 2nd September and was hosted by Radio 1’s Alice Levine and XFM’s John Kennedy.

Domino was named Independent Label of the Year with their signing Arctic Monkeys picking up Independent Album of he Year. Well, not quite picking up as they were too cool to show and actually in Denver but everyone else seemed to show including Best Live Act recipient Sophie Ellis Bextor.

London Grammar picked up two of the robot shaped awards for Independent Breakthrough of the Year and the PPL Award for Most Played New Independent Act.

Barn on the Farm received the Golden Welly award for Best Independent Festivals and Hyperdub was named Best Small Label, with Founder Steve Goodman already announced as recipient of this year’s Innovator Award.

Martin Mills was given the Pioneer Award before handing AIM Chairman and Chief Executive Alison Wenham a surprise Special Recognition Award.
