BLESSA

There is something inherently rewarding about the completion of a cycle, and the Tipping Point cycle is no different. Beginning with discovery, as supported by the rafts of avid tippers and tastemakers, all the way through the various processes of musical development that conclude in a strong and purposeful release. Therefore it is with great pleasure to feature tipping point favourites Blessa and their debut EP, ‘Love is an Evol Word’, released on their own label Carmel Records in conjunction with Generator.

Having made it onto the pages of Tipping Point towers early in their development, Blessa has since received plaudits from the likes of NME, The Line of Best Fit, and Huw Stephens. The release of their debut EP sees the Sheffield five piece emerge as a galvanised musical force, employing sonic influences from bands such as Chromatics and Wild Nothing, while gaining lyrical inspiration from New York School poets such as Frank O’Hara and John Ashbery.

Recorded by MJ (Hookworms/Menace Beach) at his own Suburban Studios, ‘Love is an Evol Word’ is just as much a statement of intent as it is a strong and effusive EP.
