DOOQU & LUKE CUSATO

Today’s tip is Danish producer Dooqu and British songwriter Luke Cusato and their collaborative effort ‘Better Withu’. The mix of innocent lyrics and off quirky electronics makes for a feel-good track that “will warm you up in all its sweet melodies,” says the producer’s record label Heroic.

Dooqus’ quirky music is a mixture of classic pop structures, with an alternative edge, that has been rising to the forefront of popular music. The track starts sweet and innocent with light piano before it evolves into a glitchy bass driven groove. Liverpool-based Cusato’s warm voice is the perfect match to the track and shows off the singer’s impressive range.

Fans of acts like Flume, Cashmere Cat and Mura Masa, will enjoy this release, largely due to its off-kilter dance-vibe and the way in which bridges the gap between the mainstream and the alternative in a fresh and youthful way.

‘Betterwithu’ shows the talents of Dooqu, whilst showcasing a young, unsigned British artist, it’s catchy and fun and all we can hope is that they work together again in the future.
