Help Musicians UK: Launch Bursaries

Music charity Help Musicians UK is seeking to increase opportunities for young professional musicians through its new career development bursaries.

The bursaries are designed to fund opportunities such as participation in masterclasses, short courses, residential programmes, mentoring, coaching, or travel for research and collaboration, both in the UK and overseas.

Grants range from £500 to £2,000 and applications are open to UK based instrumentalists, composers, vocalists and ensembles aged between 21 and 35 across all genres. The deadline for applications is Friday 2nd September and you can find out more from the HMUK website.

The charity were also announced as an associate partner for the recently announced Venues Day 2016.

HMUK Chief Executive Richard Robinson said: “We’re proud to be Associate Partner for Venues Day 2016. Our industry relies on grassroots music venues and the recent closures threaten its future. Help Musicians UK will champion the work of these venues and support the lobbying efforts to ensure local music and musicians continue to thrive”.
