Hyde Park & Summertime Ball

Headlining this year’s BBC Radio 2 Live In Hyde Park on Sunday, September 10 will be Take That.

Announced this morning (7th) by Chris Evans on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, the band who appeared at One Love Manchester, will be joined by Blondie, James Blunt, Emeli Sandé, Rick Astley, Seth Lakeman & Wildwood Kin, Stereophonics, and special guest Shania Twain, who will all perform at the 45,000-capacity “festival in a day”.

Calling it Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park’s “best ever line-up” Jeff Smith, Head of Music for Radio 2, said: “In this, our 50th year, we welcome an incredible line-up of world class artists and musicians who showcase the breadth of music played across BBC Radio 2. Listeners, viewers and the audience in the park will be treated to everything from rock and pop, to folk and country”..

Whatever Jeff, whatever.

The concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2. Fans will also be able to watch all the action as it happens on the BBC Red Button, on BBC iPlayer and via the Radio 2 website.

In a similar blockbusting manner, Capital’s Summertime Ball is being streamed via Twitter in association with Global on June 10th.

Performing at the event broadcast from Wembley Arena will be a host of glittering stars including: Bruno Mars, Little Mix (pictured), Shawn Mendes, Maroon 5, Stormzy, Niall Horan, Clean Bandit, Sean Paul, Zara Larsson, Olly Murs, JP Cooper, Louisa Johnson, Rag‘N’Bone Man, Dua Lipa, Charlie Puth, Julia Michaels, James Arthur, Martin Jensen, Jax Jones & Raye, Zedd, Anne-Marie and 5 After Midnight.
