Jo Cox Tribute

Chancellor Philip Hammond has announced that a Christmas single in memory of Jo Cox MP (pictured) is to have the VAT on sales given to charity.

Musicians and MPs have recorded the tribute to the member for Batley and Spen who was murdered in her constituency earlier this year.

Hammond said: “I am pleased to confirm that every single penny of sales from this single will go towards the good causes the Jo Cox Foundation supports”.

The single is a cover of the Rolling Stone’s ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ to raise money for the Jo Cox Foundation, an organisation that was set up to support various charities. The recording features Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson, David Gray, Cockney Rebel’s Steve Harley and KT Tunstall.

The track will be released on 16th December and is likely to be a contender for the Christmas number one slot, the full list of which can be found at the Official Charts Company.
