Weekly rock magazine Kerrang! has launched a social media-powered radio show which will see the station playing the most requested songs via a Twitter hashtag. Despite sounding a little bit like something out of the pages of Dave Egger’s recent novel The Circle, #KerrangMostWanted is happening and will be broadcast every Monday night from 10pm-11pm,

Music and Content Director for Kerrang! Radio Ric Blaxill said: “Kerrang! listeners are passionate, smart and have boundless enthusiasm for the alternative music scene they love. This show gives them control of the playlist, and offers a dynamic and real time radio show which they are at the heart of”.

The idea is that the show will harness the power of its 191,000 Twitter followers. Expanding on the fan interaction, alongside playing the most requested tracks, each week the show will give a different listener the opportunity to get their voice on their favourite radio station and host the show.

Kerrang! Radio can be listened to across the UK on DAB, Freeview, online or via mobile apps.
