We are pleased to announce that Digital Union Member Baltic Training are launching 2 new Cyber Security Apprenticeship Programmes - read more below.

In modern society, data is power. With this power comes responsibility; businesses have a duty to safeguard the data that they process. In order to meet the growing necessity for cyber security provision within UK businesses, Baltic are excited to announce that we are launching two new apprenticeship programmes:

Cyber Security Technologist – Technologist

Cyber Security Technologist – Risk Analyst

Both programmes provide an introduction to the key elements that are essential for most cyber security roles. Depending on the exact nature of the role, your apprentice can go down either the risk analyst or technologist pathway.

Why is cyber security important to my business?

Data breaches are not only detrimental to a company’s reputation, but they can also be extremely costly. With hefty fines for businesses who are in breach of GDPR, it’s more important than ever to take cyber security seriously.

Skilled hackers are using a range of increasingly sophisticated techniques in order to compromise data. The best way for businesses to combat this is to ensure they are adequately protected from any potential threats.

The primary role of a cyber security technologist is to apply an understanding of cyber threats, hazards, risks, controls, measures and mitigations to protect their organisation’s systems and people. Whether focussed on the technical or risk analysis side, all people in this occupation work to achieve required security outcomes in a legal and regulatory context.

What job roles is the technologist programme suitable for?

This pathway is suitable for roles such as Penetration Tester, Security Architect, Security Analyst, Information Security Assurance & Threat Analyst and Security Engineer. Duties and responsibilities can include security design and architecture, security testing, investigations and response.

What job roles is the risk analyst programme suitable for?

This pathway is suitable for roles such as Governance & Compliance Analyst, Information Security Auditor, Security Administrator, Information Security Officer and Risk Analyst. These roles are focussed on the risk analysis side of cyber security, including operations, risk, governance and compliance.

How will the training be delivered?

Both apprenticeship programmes will be delivered through Online Live, a highly interactive online classroom environment that meets the evolving needs of the digital sector. This unique training delivery method blends lectures, hands-on practice, and instructor interaction to create the most stimulating and successful learning environment possible.
