Newcastle UX Agency on Track For More Growth After Recruiting New Staff

Newcastle UX agency UserLab has created 2 jobs in the last quarter and is expecting more for growth next year as they extend their client base.

Founded 3 years ago by Tom Devlin, UserLab has already won long-term contracts with public sector clients and a local startup.

The company specialises in user-centred design, usability and research, including prototyping and user-testing in their state-of-the art UX testing lab in Newcastle city centre.

UserLab’s Founder Tom Devlin, who has grown the company from scratch said “We help organisations understand user behaviour and keep people at the centre of the design process by doing user testing and feeding actionable insights back to our clients”.

UserLab were invited by InnovateUK to showcase their expertise at SmartFactoryExpo in Liverpool earlier this month, where they connected with key decision-makers in the manufacturing industry about designing and testing digital solutions.

“There’s still a lot of companies out there who aren’t aware of UX or don’t see the value in doing user research but if you look at the companies that do – from big conglomerates like Amazon and Apple, to disruptors like Deliveroo and Monzo, they’re all testing and iterating their products based on user feedback.

It’s a clear route to making more usable products and we’re on a mission to help more companies do just that.”

UserLab are looking to add more members to their team and they’ve just added a well known online wholesaler to their portfolio, with more work lined up for next year.
