BE CHARLOTTE

After listening to this track, it’s pretty apparent why anybody would want to ‘Be Charlotte’. The Dundee-born rapper/beatboxer/singer(…anything else?) has created her own brilliant style of pop; combining her many talents to produce not only one of the most innovative tracks of the year so far, but one of the most dynamic as well.

‘One Drop’ constantly changes from a dirty beatbox rhythm, to eloquent rap, to flawless pop. Besides from the undeniable talent on show, what sets Be Charlotte apart is her Scottish accent. The highland twang serves to add a little spice to a dish already teeming with flavour. If the collaboration of rap and beatbox weren’t enough, you’ll surely find something to capture your imagination within this singer’s repertoire.

‘One Drop’ really is a track that you have to listen to over and over again to appreciate its fullness. In a world of auto tune and ghost-writers, it’s great to see a genuinely talented artist bringing something I, and probably others, have never heard before to the forefront of music.

Be Charlotte is currently touring Europe with ‘One Drop’; and for those of you unable to go and see her, there is plenty of other material which will blow your mind just as much.
