DELOOZE
A brief search of the World Wide Web reveals that Delooze has been musically active for several years, initially operating under the moniker Stacey Delooze. There are only a few readily available articles, however one comments that Stacey Delooze’s debut album was set to be released in ‘early 2012’, with ‘appearances from members of Florence & The Machine, Gnarls Barkley, and Alanis Morissette’. The album itself doesn’t appear readily available to purchase, but it was reportedly mixed by famed producer Dom Morley, who worked on records with Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Mark Ronson.
With this all in mind, you may be somewhat puzzled by Delooze’s arrival here in our modest Tipping Point towers. Well other than losing the ‘Stacey’ prefix, the release of ‘Lost Army’ appears to be a rejuvenation, or perhaps a reinvention, of the Delooze project. Having already sold out London’s Electrowerkz, Delooze promises us that her live project will, ‘embrace the challenge of combining electronic and live sounds, to create a modern audio-visual experience’. A very exciting proposition indeed, especially as Delooze operates within a sonic sphere industrial instrumentation, mixing pop melodies with dark, brooding undertones.
If you’re still a bit confused, then Delooze’s single launch show is scheduled for 3rd July at London’s Islingtong Assembly Hall, and so is an opportunity to make your own mind up on this gothic pop gem.
