ELIZA SHADDAD

Released with impeccable timing to coincide with the shortening daylight hours, and increasing likelihood of wind and rain, ‘Wars’ is the first single from Eliza Shaddad’s dark and brooding ‘Run’ EP, scheduled for release in early 2016.

Teaming up with Chris Bond, the producer of Ben Howard’s most recent album, Shaddad has crafted a great slice of driving alternative pop, made up of a thick tapestry of delay-drenched guitars. At the forefront though is Eliza’s powerful and commanding voice, delivering the imperious and questioning chorus line; ‘Who wins these wars? Who are you fighting for?.

Fans of similarly impressive gloomy yet emotionally riveting alt.pop songstresses Sharon van Etten or Chelsea Wolfe should take note of this track, and keep their eyes peeled for the full EP next year.

Clocking in at a tidy 3 and half minutes, the songwriting and production of this song complement each other perfectly, and generate a track with bags of replayability. A very exciting act to lookout for in 2016.
