Evolution Emerging 2016 Apply Now!

Generator are once again looking for the best emerging North East talent to showcase at this year’s Evolution Emerging festival – our takeover of the best independent venues in the Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle on Saturday 28th May.

Now in its eighth year, Evolution Emerging will see 40+ emerging artists playing alongside special guest headliners and artists unearthed through our innovative Tipping Point blog.

Submissions are now open in partnership with Music Glue. If you are interested in submitting your act for consideration, please click below and follow our simple steps between Monday 18th – Friday 29th January.

Building on consecutive sold out events, a ‘Best Event of the Year’ nomination from the Chronicle’s People’s Choice Award and after successfully providing the model for the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival by Day event last year, Evolution Emerging will continue to grow and the 2016 event will be the biggest and best yet with full lineup and ticket info announced early March.

The event continues to unearth countless new artists from the North East and beyond and has previously showcased notable performances from the likes of Nadine Shah, Hyde and Beast, Lanterns on the Lake, Beth Jeans Houghton, Eliza and the Bear, Lisbon, Shields, The Lake Poets and Lulu James.

The live arena is crucial to any artist’s development and the festival as a platform along with additional support from Generator is an opportunity not to miss out on.”

Once the application deadline of Friday 29th January (11.59pm) has expired, Generator will invite a panel of North East music tastemakers to listen to all submissions and vote for their favourites. Successful artists will be informed in February and Generator will announce the full Evolution Emerging lineup in March.
