EXAM SEASON

What a wonderful thing British Summer Time is. The sun’s out, the birds are singing, and human beings no longer live nocturnal, subterranean lives.

Such a lifestyle transformation requires a soundtrack, and what better than the jolly garage-rock of today’s tip Exam Season?

Remarkably, it’s entirely the work of one Ed Watson, whose head must be brimming with early R.E.M. and Dandy Warhols records.

All the ingredients are present and correct: jangling 12-string guitars, slacker vocals, big chorus, although overlaid with a very English sensibility – a more self-deprecating song title you’re unlikely to hear all year. Just the thing to set the scene for summer.
