FREDWAVE

Hailing from North London, Fredwave gives us his fresh take on alternative soul with new song ‘Kno Betta’. The self-produced track is a hazy wave of electronics that are surrounded by his inimitable, unhibited and sometimes distorted anglicised voice. The track is heartfelt, gritty with a hint of melancholy all in one.

Fans of Sampha and James Blake won’t be disappointed; yet there is a complete uniqueness to his sound that suggests a different mix of influences. Past songs such as the atmospheric ‘Home‘ nod towards an appreciation of grime with the subtle sample of Dizzee Rascal, but generally there’s still a lot left unsaid about the artist.

Kno Betta‘ shows that it’s still possible to create a fresh original sound. It’s exciting to see an emergence of alternative experimental music that is undeniably British that has potential to go so far.
