GEORGIE

In a world in which substantial and heartfelt alternative singer-songwriters are on the decline, it’s nigh on euphoric when someone like Georgie rises to the surface.

Hailing originally from Nottingham, Georgie’s forte is making gorgeous acoustic music, which packs a real punch in the form of incredibly visceral and honest lyrics. ‘This Ain’t Heaven’ perfectly encapsulates what she is about; a track that is driven by its raw lyrical content (“In a world of despair, if your love isn’t there, well this ain’t heaven”), delivered through a soulful and distinctive voice (reminiscent of the likes of Stevie Nicks and Chrissie Hynde), rounded off with the warm and dissonant sound of her acoustic guitar playing – a minimal accompaniment which perfectly compliments her superb songwriting.

Here’s her performing the track for Burberry Acoustic.

Having sealed a record deal with Columbia in the back end of the summer, 2016 is destined to be a big year for Georgie, with extensive touring and a debut album in the pipeline. Catch her while you can, before her inevitable rise to the top!
