HANNAH LOU CLARK

Opening boldly with the line ‘Love is a gobstopper in my mouth’ accompanied by the synthetic pulse of a drum machine, Hannah Lou Clark takes us on a sneering lyrical journey exploring feelings of frustration, discouragement and heartache.

It’s Your Love’ is experimental, grungy, and hypnotic, yet despite it’s upbeat and care-free feel, it is difficult not to register the underlying feelings of vexation behind this track.

Lyrically, it is effortlessly cool and clever with Hannah mentioning that “Sometimes in life it feels as though people are holding a gun to your head, and you have to suck it up and get on with it. I wanted the music to replicate that repetitive feeling of frustration.”

With her use of grungy guitars and crashing cymbals, she has certainly accomplished that.

With plays on Radio X, Radio 6 Music and Amazing Radio, and gigging recently in locations ranging from Leicester to Paris, Hannah Lou Clark definitely seems to be gathering momentum. She’s one to keep an eye out for.
