LITTLE BEAR

Whilst walking home on a cold February night, I gave this gem of a tune a well-deserved first listen. Music is very situational, and with the icy wind hitting my face as I struggled through the night, ‘Killer’ by Little Bear couldn’t of sounded any better.

Little Bear’s new release is a chilling composition, sometimes reminiscent of Radiohead, and dare I say it, early Coldplay. Indeed the name and lyrics coincide with the daunting tone of the song – the chorus cries ‘bury my soul, killer’ culminating with a haunting falsetto from vocalist Steve McCool. Magical.

The Northern Irish four-piece release ‘Killer’ as part of a double A-side along with ‘Night Dries Like Ink’, a slightly more upbeat production, yet another prominent example of their ‘emotionally literate rock’.
