LOVE SSEGA

Introducing British-Ugandan singer Love Ssega, bringing you a fun, yet soulful follow up to his debut EP title-track ‘Minds’.

Though he is an emerging artist, he may seem vaguely familiar. Love Ssega was a founding member of Clean Bandit, and his voice features on their 2010 hit record Mozart’s House. Just as they were on the brink of success, Seggy left in order to complete his PHD. In Laser Sensing. Yeah.

Not that this has held him back, however. Despite only launching his solo career in August, Love has already earned repeat plays on Radio 1, with support from the likes of Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart and Annie Mac. Not bad, eh?

‘Pray For Love’ is a warm, tropical piece of electronic funk, driven by a heavily groovy baseline and intricate woven layers. The song is laid-back, feel-good and bursting with vibrant colour – with a music video to match.

If pop music is all about feeling good, then Pray For Love absolutely hits the nail on the head.

If anything, the release seems poorly timed. The spirit and warmth of the song would have made this the perfect tune for Summer. Get the barbecue on.
