PIXEY

You almost forget Summer’s over when you listen to Pixey‘s new track, ‘Young‘. A mix of nineties American garage-style rock-pop and Wolf Alice grunge-like vocals makes it understandable as to why it’s been picked up and played recently by BBC Radio 1‘s Huw Stephens, and will keep you dancing happily through Autumn.

Young‘ features lo-Fi guitar riffs and drums with an electric pop balance, and Pixey‘s echo-y reverbed vocals are reminiscent of simple early pop rock, giving an innocence that matches the name of the track.

It’s hard not to enjoy ‘Young‘, as it’s refreshing to hear a track by such a young singer-songwriter that takes you back to a simple, fun time and contains all that a good pop song should.
