Pulp Fiction and The National Lampoon

Two acclaimed music documentaries with a difference are hitting cinemas across the UK this month – Pulp: A Film About Life, Death And Supermarkets documents Jarvis Cocker and his band Pulp’s triumphant return to their hometown of Sheffield for their final UK gig in December 2012 and Mistaken For Strangers, made by Tom Beringer, the younger brother of The National’s vocalist Matt.

The film focuses on the relationship between the brothers and was acclaimed after debuting at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival last year.

Various screenings are scheduled but The Gen recommends either the excellent Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle or the Greenwich Picturehouse in London, both of which have screenings with live satellite Q and A sessions on Sat 7th June for Pulp and Saturday 14th June for Mistaken for Strangers.
