TURTLE

Glasgow-based Jon Cooper is the brains behind Turtle – a new project that has spouted just one track online so far. As far as introductory songs go though, ‘Who Knows’ is right up there with the best of the year alongside fellow newcomer Oceaan‘s ‘Need U’. The track unravels from start to finish, exposing new layers and hooks as it develops. Whether it be the swelling electric-organ styled foundations that are prominent in the intro and grow to punctuate the song throughout, the Fyfe-like vocal that proudly stands tall in the mix or the short swirl of melody provided by a rush of piano; this song will get you, one way or another.

Having picked up adulation aplenty from the likes of DIY Magazine and The Line of Best Fit as well as a flurry of Hype Machine blog love; you can expect to see a lot more from Turtle in the coming months as ‘Who Knows’ places Mr Cooper on a perfect platform for progression.
