UK Music Backs Venues Day

Umbrella trade group UK Music has been named as the new headline partner of Venues Day this year.

The event, which is promoted by the Music Venues Trust (MVT), will take place on 18th October this year at the Roundhouse venue in London.

Venues Day 2015 took place at the Ministry Of Sound in 2015, and was attended by 400 delegates networking with representatives from music industry businesses, cultural organisations and advisors on issues including access to finance, insurance, licensing and legal issues.

CEO of MVT Mark Davyd said: “We’re delighted to be working closely with UK Music in a number of areas protecting, securing and improving grassroots music venues. The recent success with the change to UK law on permitted development rights shows just what can be achieved by collaboration, and it’s great to have Jo and her team on board early with these events so we can ensure they make a genuine positive impact on the sector”.

A full line up of panelists and partner organisations for 2016 will be announced from this May, with general delegate passes on sale from August.

UK Music is also partnering with MVT on some upcoming April regional meetings in Manchester, Leicester and Bristol, with a similar event in Cardiff taking place later in the spring. Delegate passes for these events are free for venues, to find out more go here.
