Released soon on London Label Bad Life is Astro Zu’s ‘Sungod’ featuring vocals from previously tipped Tusks. It’s a song set for hazy summer nights, tinged with tranquil, subtle production that manages to catch you off guard, with beats that come out of nowhere layered over a velvety blend of synths and samples.

Chillstep, chillwave etc… whatever you want to end up calling it, that label will just be a fad anyway. The fact is, Astro Zu’s production demands to be heard. And if the blistering heat this summer so far is anything to go by, I’ll welcome more of his tunes to soundtrack the rest of it.
