BRAWLERS

Sometimes I get super jealous of the Leeds music scene; it’s got great venues, great bands, and there’s always something new to discover, with every old ‘scene’ laying the foundations for something new, be it hardcore, punk, indie or pop. Brawlers is a perfect case in point. Comprised of members of Dinosaur Pile Up, We Were Frontiers, Castrovalva & legendary anarcho-punk ragamuffins Leftover Crack, Brawlers have come a long way fast after only forming in Summer 2013, having already been lauded by Kerrang!, Zane Lowe and many more. More importantly, when you meld together all their influences, their life lessons, and their God-given talents these four boys create a furious uproarious punk pop sound that’s utterly infectious.

Repeated listenings of ‘Instagram Famous’ will have you singing along, jumping up and down & busting out some kick ass air guitar. Their debut EP ‘I Am a Worthless Piece of Shit’ is fresh out on the fantastic Alcopop! Records, and promises to pack a punch with a series of raucous riffs and it’s cutting, satirical lyrics. There’s word of touring soon too, so it won’t just be Leeds that gets to share in all the fun. Bloody Leeds.
