CACTUS KNIFE

This Wigan based quartet deal in catchy surf and psychedelic pop sounds, no more so than on ‘Atheist Angel’, which the band released through Brock ‘n’ Broll records recently. Citing Pixies and Brock ‘n’ Broll as influences, Cactus Knife, perhaps predictably, employ gritty and distorted guitars to brilliant effect. Drawing parallels with more contemporary counterparts such as Yuck and Joanna Gruesome, ‘Atheist Angel’ boasts controlled feedback, chunky riffs and chanting vocals to create a grand and grunge-tinged pop song.
