HOLY MILK

‘Born And Die’, the latest track from London fortet Holy Milk is something quite special and fully deserving of your attention. There’s something magical about this track, yet I can’t quite put my finger on what it is. Eerie, swirling synths creep their way into your ears; a thudding, intense, bass led groove takes over and begins to dominate. “You are born and then you die” guitarist/vocalist Lucinda John-Duarte sings, as a drum beat pounds, just like the all the important, life giving, beating of a heart.

Lucinda’s delicate and haunting vocals are sure to call references to Lana Del Rey and impossibly young New Zealander songstress Lorde, but it’s when her chilly delivery combines with gorgeous electronic waves of synths that track really enthrals.

An elegant and hypnotic slice of ethereal ambient groove pop that delves darker and deeper than dream pop ever has before.
