JOELPETER

We’re acting as travel agents today. You know that horrific feeling you get when you return to work just after the brilliant Christmas & New Year holidays? You know that urge you have to go and book a holiday to the Bahamas? We have a tip for you today which takes you there.

By now we don’t need to tell you how good Brighton is at molding great new bands, and we have another one in JoelPeter. The singer of the same name is accompanied by four band-mates who comprise the sunny indie pop band. They sound like first album Bombay Bicycle Club with added spices of The 1975 and Foals.

‘Chase You Down’ is an addictive ice melting slice of pop. You’ll find yourself whispering the chorus under your breath all day whilst humming the gorgeously polished chorus riff. Quite simply it might be the happiest song we’ve heard all year. There’s some delightful backing vocals going on and perhaps the best ingredient of this tropical cocktail is the maracas heading into the chorus. ‘Chase You Down’ is the definition of perfect pop.

The band’s next gig is on March 6th at Bar 42 in Worthing. They’ll also be playing a few gigs in London in May when we’ll hopefully have more summer anthems to take us into the season.
