LION BARK

If you’re searching for something to take the edge off the winter chill, then look no further than Brighton four-piece Lion Bark and their latest offering ‘Longhorns’. A lush slice of orchestral indie, Longhorns is all hazy guitars and smooth layered vocals which comes across like a much more mellow version of a Wild Beasts track. Vocalist Guy Bangham’s confident croon has an understated flamboyance which perfectly suits the intricacies of Lion Bark’s swelling melodies.

Flawlessly structured, Longhorns swoops and falls in all the right places, with guitar layers swirling under twinkling piano. It’s the kind of song that could have easily been over-done, but Lion Bark display an impressive sense of control, keeping Longhorns infectiously breezy without compromising the subtle details. A gorgeous, charming effort.
