LONDON GRAMMAR

Allowing your debut single to surface in the dying days of 2012 will certainly spark a wave of excitement that will carry on through the new year barrier and land you with the tagline “Keep an eye out for this band in 2013” in a lot of your press. That is assuming that the song is good and, in this case, it’s an absolute cracker from London Grammar. From its gentle opening to the introduction of a rich and totally absorbing vocal, the track builds and layers up as it progresses through the addition of pinched guitar and subtle minimalist percussion.

The British trio have seen ‘Hey Now’, their only track to be made available thus far, loosely compared to everything from The xx to Jessie Ware and have got the online music blogsphere awaiting their next move with bated breath. But from the look of their somewhat bare website, the elusive London Grammar seem to be keeping their cards close to their chests. So all that is left to say, I suppose, is keep an eye out for this band in 2013…
