Today’s tip comes from OUTLYA with their uplifting hook-laden single ‘Higher’.

The track explores the notion of retreating into your imagination when the going gets tough. It’s anthemic with big vocals that ask you to chant along, with the tropical synths and snappy percussion guiding you along the emotive levels of the track. Fans of Fun. and Bastille will feel at home here, however the trio serve a little more grit and have a prominent rock feel to them.

Frontman Will Bloomfield explained why the vocals really pop out: “We wanted the track to sound bold and have this huge vocal sound like Pastor T L Barrett and the Youth For Christ Choir.”

‘Higher’ exemplifies OUTLYA’s polished sound and the buzz surrounding the group is already beginning to grow. They’re currently on tour with pop titan Frances, so we recommend you keep an eye on this trio.
