PAUMA

Recently featured on BBC 6 Music’s Recommends show, PAUMA are slowly but surely generating something of a quiet buzz. It’s no wonder that the four-piece have gained attention from the likes of Steve Lamacq; their blend of alt-rock riffs and laid-back basslines, highly reminiscent of Jagwar Ma and the slower output of Foster the People, is pretty unique for a British band unaccustomed to West Coast sun.

‘Sink or Swim’ combines hazy, almost shoegaze-tinged guitars and simple percussion in its verses with a sweeping wall of sound within its chorus. Snugly occupying a space between epic fuzz rock and languid alt, PAUMA’s only available song to date sends a strong message of intent.
