SAINT PHNX
We kick-start your week with a solid slice of Glaswegian indie rock from brother duo Saint PHNX. ‘Reload’, the track in question, is a rip roaring anthem sure to win them plenty of fanfare.
Royal Blood are an easy comparison to make, but Saint PHNX are more melodic, keen on making a big sing-along to their rock music, perhaps like Queens of the Stone Age. The Jukes brothers come together to make quite a vast sound despite only being a duo and a lot of that is aided through vocalist Stevie, whose voice is capable of handling the dramatics of the large stadium rock sound. If you’re a fan of Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds, that might give you an idea of what to expect from Stevie’s vocals.
They may have been playing in bands together for years, but Saint PHNX are a completely new act who’ve really impressed with their debut single, leading to lots of different publications getting excited about them.
The band play their first ever show at Glasgow’s legendary Nice ‘N’ Sleazys on Thursday which is sure to be a memorable occasion. We have a feeling these guys are going to be enormous and we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
