SONIA STEIN

Star power isn’t a term thrown around lightly in this day and age, due to the masses of pop music out there available to stream and consume. With that being said, it’s what comes to mind immediately upon hearing the first lines of Sonia Stein’s single ‘One Of Those Things’.

‘One Of Those Things’ is a neon-drenched slow jam about the denial of the end of a relationship. The lyrics paint a very clear picture of the sense of struggle in admitting that the relationship is defeated, speaking of still looking perfect in certain angles and waiting for something to come back.

What is striking is the personality and body language Sonia exudes in her music video for the song. The way she feels the music is similar to the mesmerizing dancing of Christine & The Queens but in a much more mellow way, mixing aspects of Jessie Ware and Banks.

Students will be in for a treat as Sonia embarks on a Coffee House Sessions tour soon to find lots of new fans at universities up and down the country. Check out the details of these free gigs on the Coffee House Sessions site.
