Top Of The Tips 2013

To paraphrase a great philosopher; “IT’S TIIIIPMAAAAAAAAAAAAAS.” That’s right, it’s that time of year where we get in on the list action and celebrate our favourite Tips from the past 12 months.

The Tipping Point has been pointing the spotlight on some amazing new artists from all corners of the UK for two years now, relying on our innovative Tippers Network comprised of bloggers, new music DJs, promoters, artists and other music aficionados up and down the country choosing reliable word of mouth over PR spin.

The Tipping Point was set up not only to promote the best new music in the UK but also to develop it through our Artist Development programme, with our tippers acting as our ears to the ground and unearthing new talent. Having seen them finish 6th in 2012’s Top of the Tips yearly round up, we were absolutely delighted to be able to work with Eliza and the Bear this year.

Since first unearthing Eliza and the Bear, via The Tipping Point, and a gorgeous Tipper, back in 2012, we have supported the band and their management team, helping build a sustainable team (PR, Agent, Plugger). We helped them release their double A-side single ‘Upon The North’ / ‘The Southern Wild’ back in February, before following it up with their second release  ‘Friends‘ in September. The track was given it’s world premiere by Zane Lowe on Radio 1 and has since received airplay from Dermot O’Leary on his Radio 2 show, Sarah Cox on Radio 1, as well as XFM and Amazing Radio. We’re proud of our work with Eliza and the Bear and can’t wait to work with more artists in the near future.

Back to now though, and for the past month we left the aforementioned members of our Tippers Network stranded in a jungle somewhere in Australia, feeding them only the freshest creepiest crawlies the outback has to offer*, for one purpose and one purpose only; whittling down the above Tipping Point Top of The tips 2013 long list to just ten artists. One month, two blacks eyes, a bloody nose and a kangaroo penis later, we have it.

SO, for the next two weeks, be sure to keep your eyes peeled, your ears well and truly pricked up and your brain tuned into The Tipping Point, as we countdown the freshest, hottest, most exciting artists the UK has to offer. Woof.
