TUUSC

If the producers of the forthcoming Bond film are looking for a song to soundtrack an aerial shot of said secret agent’s Aston Martin driving an Alpine pass at high speed, perhaps on the way to avenge the untimely death of a woman with whom he had a brief but intense fling, they should look no further than today’s tip by TUUSC, a collective led by Welsh musician Matthew Aldus.

As you might imagine from that description, ‘Truth Or Dare’ is soaked in subtle grandeur – the smooth, layered vocal vies with dark piano chords, filtered guitar, an enormous reversed snare and loads of sub bass to give that chillled-angst vibe that so suits a spot of gentlemanly revenge violence. Even the title hints at passive-aggressive menace. Although it’s probably all about breaking up with a girl. Isn’t all of pop music about that?
