Ladders Programme Launch

Generator has teamed up with three of the North East’s youth support and creative organisations to launch Ladders, a programme to support 18-24 year olds wishing to pursue a career in the creative and digital industries.

This industry is growing fast, a recent report by the North East Chamber of Commerce stated that 1.2 million new workers will be needed by 2022 in order to keep up with its growth. Ladders aims to rise to the challenge, helping provide the region’s young people with credible and industry focused sources of careers and enterprise advice.

Young people will gain industry knowledge and experience in music, film and digital media alongside the skills needed to progress in these competitive industries.

Over the coming three years, Ladders aims to develop and prepare over 180 young people for a career or self employment in the creative and digital industries, none of which would be achievable without both delivery and funding partners. Creative Courses, enterprise support, “Reducing The Skills Gap” workshops and advice clinics will be delivered by This is Creative Enterprise, Youth Focus: North East and Foundation Futures.

Ladders part-funded by the England European Regional Development Fund as part of theEuropean Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 alongside Big Lottery Funding.

Courses begin on 26th September – place are free but extremely limited, please contact Louise atlouise@generator.org.uk for more information.
