Magic ‘Moments’ for Vevo and Twitter

Vevo has partnered with Twitter for the launch of the social network’s latest feature ‘Moments’.

The new addition enables Twitter users with snapshots of so-called ‘Moments’ from around the world, displayed through a mix of video content, interactive text and photographs.

Moments’ curated by Vevo will pull in artist tweets, performance footage, fan messages and user generated content. The mechanism is designed to allow audiences to engage with each other and with artists, and to function as a way for fans to keep up to date with the latest music video news and events.

Although the name evokes a box of sickly Christmas sweets, it’s quite an interesting feature, allowing artists to at least create a path to break through the selective white noise of Twitter feeds and reach their fans.

The first ‘Moment’ curated by Vevo is already online, an interactive poll with video content asking users to vote for their favourite Taylor Swift (pictured) video of the year.

Vevo’s VP of content and programming, UK and international Tom Connaughton said; “This is a great partnership for Vevo. Our audience are prolific tweeters so we are really excited to be on board. We have an engaged social following and the relationship we harness between artists and fans is key”.
