Newcastle alt-rockers A Festival, A Parade share their pulsating new release Cold Shower, the first track taken from their forthcoming EP Stay Away From Me this autumn.
“Cold Shower is a song which takes a twisted look at endurance, empathy, and the chaos that could ensue when any even-tempered individual is pushed to their boiling point”, states frontman Joe Allan, with their explosive single marking a whole new phase for the outfit following the success of their first few initial releases.
Drawing obvious comparisons to acts including Mogwai, The National and Preoccupations, the quartet have built on their burgeoning live reputation over the last twelve months, sharing bills with acts such as Frightened Rabbit and Sam Fender in addition to touring nationwide.
Discussing the recording process, the band detailed: “Working with Paul Gregory (Lanterns On The Lake, Minor Victories, Mastersystem) and utilising his ability to take our complex raucous energy and turn it into something accessible and artistic, is something that we’ve really benefitted from whilst making our upcoming EP”, with further new music due in the coming months.
Following a sold-out hometown show to mark this latest release, the four-piece will be heading out on the festival circuit with appearances at the likes of The Great Escape and Meet The North.
A Festival, A Parade’s Cold Shower was released on 24th April via Tipping Point Records (Azekel, Bryde, Eliza and the Bear) and is available on all platforms.
